PICTURE BOOK

The story

Lisa and Yasin have the same age, both love their Mom and Dad, and both enjoy receiving emails. Lisa lives in Germany. Yasin lives far away, somewhere where currently bad things are happening.

One day, Lisa learns that Yasin will soon come to Germany, since it is no longer safe for his family to stay at home. Jointly, the two children discover Germany. At first through exchanging emails, and later in person – after Yasin’s long journey – in the kindergarten, at the supermarket, on a bicycle, in the zoo, in contact with the police, and on food.

Not everything is all that simple, though. But fortunately there is Lisa. And one thing is certain - Lisa mostly enjoys playing with Yasin.

The pictures

In sensitive and cheerful drawings the picture book tells the story of Lisa and Yasin.

50 illustrations show the book's nine characters in typical situations of everyday German life, all from a child's perspective. The sympathetic protagonists and their environments have been executed in pencil drawings and colored with acrylic paint.

Our thanks

"The Dragon Prince" was conceived, written and drawn by Louiza Froebe. Both author and publisher thank the translators, proof-readers, graphic designers, layout artists, as well as the numerous civic society organizations from all over Germany for their great support - without them, this ambitious project could not been completed.
